大学生のアルバイトは生活費や社会経験として価値がある一方、学修・研究・読書・睡眠の時間を押し出すほど増えると、将来の選択肢を狭める可能性がある。日本では人手不足の中で学生労働への需要が高いが、「今必要とされること」と「自分を育てること」は同じではない。大切なのは、アルバイトを否定することではなく、目的と時間を見える化し、大学での1時間を時給以上の価値に変えること。学生のみなさんは、目先の収入だけでなく、研究や学びを通じて未来の専門性、創造性、進路の可能性を広げる時間の使い方を意識するようにしてほしい。そして、アルバイトを雇う側のみなさんは、大学生を便利に使いすぎないように気をつけてほしい。
