From Iodide/Triiodide Redox to Encapsulated Polyiodide Chains
Abstract: We provide a qualitative review of the I⁻/I₃⁻ redox couple, describe bonding transitions from triiodide to larger polyiodide ions, explore the structural limits of iodine chain formation, and highlight recent advances in carbon nanotube-encapsulated polyiodide chains, including their unique structures and electronic properties.
